About Hebrides Handcrafts

Hello, I’m Lesley — the maker behind Hebrides Handcrafts, where every piece is lovingly created and infused with Reiki energy here on the Isle of Harris, in the heart of the Outer Hebrides.

My journey with Reiki began in 2007, and by 2008 I had become a Reiki Master Teacher. For nearly a decade, I shared Reiki with others — both teaching and offering treatments. 

When my husband Karl (also a Reiki Master) and I moved from Suffolk to the Outer Hebrides in 2024, I began searching for something meaningful to fill my days. I tried all sorts — from dog walking to tending an allotment — but nothing quite clicked. Then, while sorting through my late mother’s belongings, I came across her knitting needles. The moment I began to knit again, I realised that the gentle Reiki energy was flowing through my hands into the stitches. That’s when Hebrides Handcrafts was born.

I started with cosy, chunky-knit scarves and neck warmers made from 100% acrylic yarn — soft, vegan-friendly, and kind to sensitive skin. Since then, my creations have grown to include suncatchers, bracelets and keyrings, all made by hand and infused with Reiki intention.

Each item is a small piece of peace — created with care, love, and healing energy. You’ll often find me at local craft markets around the isle of Harris, while Karl offers Reiki healing on a ‘pay as you feel’ basis.
