About Hebrides Handcrafts
Hi, my name is Lesley and I create Reiki-infused handcrafts on the isle of Lewis, in the heart of the Outer Hebrides. My introduction to Reiki was in 2007 and I became a Reiki Master Teacher in 2008. Over the next 9 years, I taught people Reiki, while also continuing to treat clients. In 2017, I took a break from work and Reiki to care for my daughter, who had a debilitating health condition. Thankfully, she has now recovered and flown the nest, and is making her own way in the world.
With time on my hands, I tried various pastimes, from dog walking to tending an allotment, but never felt fulfilled. Then, in 2024, I moved from Suffolk to the Outer Hebrides in Scotland with my husband, Karl, who is also a Reiki Master. It wasn't until my mother passed away, though, and I discovered some knitting needles and wool while going through her belongings, that my passion for knitting was reignited. I also soon realised that as I was knitting, the Reiki was also flowing in my hands. Thus, the idea for Reiki-infused crafts was born.
I started by creating chunky knit scarves and neck warmers, then progressed to suncatchers, bracelets and keyrings, all hand crafted. Who knows what I'll create next, but I do know that I've found my passion and that I love what I do. You can find me at local craft markets on the Isle of Lewis and Harris, and while I'm selling my crafts, Karl offers people healing on a 'pay as you feel' basis.
